Holiday Gift Ideas for Flute Players
As we are nearing the holidays, it’s time to start thinking about gifts for the flute player in your life! Whether it’s a birthday, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or any other holiday where gift-giving is part of the tradition, there’s a gift in this list to make you the gift-giver of the year to your beloved flutist.
Music, instruments, accessories, and lessons are a great way to show your flutist that you care for them AND their success on their chosen instrument. These gifts will stay in a serious flutist’s collection for decades. For instance, I still teach out of books my parents got me for Christmas when I was in middle and high school. Instruments, accessories, and lessons are so useful, albeit a little more expensive, lessons are an experience that lends valuable insight to students. So, not only will they be a great experience now, but the insight and advice they get during those lessons could stick with them for decades.
In the list below, you’ll find tried and true instruments, methods books, repertoire books, accessories, and more to help you narrow down your search. All of these items are backed by trial and use within my studio between my students and myself, so anything you choose from this list will last and will be a big hit!
Music
Below is a comprehensive list of books for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players can use to build their music library. Instrument Maintenance
It’s important that flutes are serviced every 12-18 months. Finding a suitable local tech to do a Clean/Oil/Adjust on the flute is a great way to prolong the life of the instrument. You can even discuss certain upgrades with the tech to see if there is anything available to upgrade on the flute.
