Designed for children ages 5-7, these engaging, play-based group classes help little musicians develop rhythm, coordination, listening skills, and a love for making music—all in a supportive and fun environment.

Our Classes:

A playful introduction to the flute using fun, kid-friendly flutes, rhythm instruments, and kitchen percussion! Kids will explore sound, rhythm, and melody in a creative way.

Strumming, singing, and playing together! This class introduces young musicians to the ukulele, helping them develop rhythm, coordination, and basic chords in a fun group setting.

A fantastic first step into piano! Kids will learn simple songs, rhythm games, and fun exercises to build musical confidence and coordination on the keyboard.

What are San Diego Kinder Music Classes?
San Diego Kinder Music Classes offer a fun, interactive introduction to music for children ages 4-7. Our unique approach blends flute, recorder, ukulele, keyboard, percussion instruments, and movement-based learning to build early music skills in a creative and supportive environment.
What instruments will my child play?
Children will explore:
🎵 Nuvo Toots (beginner flutes) – perfect for small hands!
🎵 Recorders – great for developing breath control.
🎵 Percussion instruments – shakers, rhythm sticks, and even fun “kitchen orchestra” items!
🎵 Ukulele – soprano ukuleles are the perfect intro to strumming and singing for tiny hands!
🎵 Piano – small, portable keyboards are perfect for littles to begin building musical skills that will last a lifetime!
Does my child need prior music experience?
No prior experience is needed! Our beginner-friendly classes focus on exploration, creativity, and fun, making them perfect for first-time musicians.
What are the benefits of early music education?
Studies show that early exposure to music enhances brain development, fine motor skills, listening, coordination, and social skills. Our classes help children develop a strong musical foundation while boosting their confidence and love for music.
How long are the classes, and how often do they meet?
Each class is 45 minutes long and meets once a week for a 8-12 week session ending in a recital just like the bigger kids in my studio!
What if my child is shy or hesitant to participate?
That’s completely normal! Our small-group setting creates a warm, encouraging environment, allowing children to participate at their own pace while still engaging in the music-making process.
Do parents need to stay during class?
Parents are welcome to stay and observe, but our goal is to help children gain independence and confidence in their music-making. We encourage a balance of support and space!
Where are the classes held?
Our San Diego-based music classes are conveniently located in Imperial Beach, a short walk from the beach, pier, lots of restaurants, and more. It provides the perfect place for parents to drop off and go do remote work, have a spa morning, or decompress with a beach walk while your kiddos learn valuable life skills.
