June Studio News

Happy happy end of the school year!! I’ve been working hard to make sure I get to all my student’s band concerts and I just want to say how incredibly proud of all of you I am!

This week's lessons, we’ll be taking a little time to talk about our goals for the summer and our recital pieces. It’s official - we have piano accompaniment for the recital through Carly Ingalls’ piano studio, so I will reach out to parents individually to schedule those collaborative sessions. I’m so excited to get students started playing together early so they can really grow as musicians!

Lesson Changes!

I know there’s a lot going on this summer, so I’ve opened my books a little to allow parents to change their schedules around. If you need to change a lesson time or day, please reach out to me very soon so that we can make that happen.

Recital!

July 26th is our summer recital! I’m so excited for your kiddos to show off their hard work! There will be a $60 recital fee in order to participate, but this covers the extra accompanist session with me present. If your student plans to participate, it will be invoiced in July with regular lesson charges. There will be snacks and mingling after the recital, so please feel free to stick around and hang out for a bit to celebrate your kiddo’s success! Also, keep in mind that this is a HUGE deal to many students, so please try to be present, and bringing flowers is always encouraged.

Practice Space App!

Some of you may have already noticed, I’ve been having students download and use an app called Practice Space. I’ve fully vetted this app and it’s going to be a great tool for my students to have their lesson notes handy as well as assignments. They can also track their practice, compete with other students in the studio on practice time, and earn rewards for practice streaks and reaching goals. It’s a great tool! If you have any questions, please reach out but I will be helping students set this up so we can be fully set up in June.

Books!

I’ll be sending individual emails here soon with book recommendations. While typically in the first couple of months, I make copies for my students out of books, if there’s a particular book they’re doing well with, I’ll recommend you pick it up. Be on the lookout for an email from me with the method book recommendations. Also, check out my Resources page if you’re looking for gifts or other accessories to get your flutist.

Achievement Wall!

I finally have our Achievement Wall up for viewing in the Parent Portal (be sure to use the password I gave you - if you can’t remember it, reach out!), so be sure to check it periodically for student shoutouts, performance videos, etc. And if you’re kiddo does something amazing outside of the musical realm that I live in, let me know! I want to hear about it and give recognition in every way that I can!

Referrals and Reviews!

I want to thank all of you that have referred other students my way. It really means a lot that you trust me with your kids and pass that along to others. It’s so helpful to the studio as well. As we grow, we’ll get to do even more including masterclasses, field trips, studio parties, and more recitals. I’m just so excited to continue moving forward.

If you refer someone to me and they mention you or your kiddo during the enrollment process, you will get 50% off of your next full month of lessons! There’s no limit to the number of times you can use this deal as long as the person you send my way signs up!

If you leave me a review on Google (click here) you will get 10% off of your next full month of lessons!

Collaboration!

If your student is looking for even more collaboration and fun flute stuff this summer, give me a shout! I’m working hard to put together extra chamber groups and group lessons outside of the normal private lessons so that my kiddos can continue to branch out and tap into their musical potential. I’ll be happy to coordinate these opportunities and discuss package rates with you!

Again, I’m just so grateful for each and every one of you and your kiddos. It’s going to be an incredible summer and I hope to see you all at the recital!
